Holy Word Church Chinese New Year Festival

ACMA have been invited to provide a health check-up stall for the Holy World Church’s CNY Festival celebrations.

ACMA and YACMA members will be providing free health checks (e.g. blood pressure) and offer health information to the members of the public attending the celebrations.

ACMA / YACMA Members: Sign-up information for volunteers have been made available. Please contact the Membership Secretary if you have not been contacted and are available to help.

ACCC Chinese New Year Event

The Auckland Chinese Community Centre will be holding their inaugural Children’s Day, with events catering to all age groups but with a focus on “toddlers to tweens”

2019 May Community Event: Seniors Pampering and Information Day

Venue: Te Puke Main Hall, 20 Newbury St, Otara

Date: Sat 11th May 2019

The Seniors Pampering and Information Day aims to promote holistic well-being of seniors, through participation of the seniors themselves, including those with disabilities and through interacting with different agencies.

Schedule: 

  • 10-10:05: Karakia by a local kaumatua to open the event

  • 10:05-10:10: Welcome address by host organisations -Independent Living Charitable Trust/Multicultural Whanau Centre

  • 10:05-10:30: Invited speakers: council, Papatoetoe-Otara local board, Representative from Senior Group, Representative from agencies, Health Professionals

  • 10:30-1pm: Free haircut, massage (massage chair), free vaccination, free health checks - ACMA.

  • 1pm-1:30pm: Prizes Draw for Mothers' Day and Closing of the Event

2019 April Community Event

Venue: Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation, 9 Springs Rd, East Tamaki

ACMA will be providing a community talk to the local Buddhist organization at their Hall in East Tamaki. Talks will be on the flu vaccine and bowel health screening. ACMA members and medical students will be providing free health checks and a nurse and clinical pharmacist will be on-site to provide the flu vaccine.

  • 10.30 - 11.00 - Flu and Winter Health (20mins talk + 10mins Q&A) by Dr David Wu 

    11.00 - 11.30 - Flu vaccination by Vicky Chan (Pharmacist at Life Pharm, Pakuranga)

    11.30 - 12:00 - Bowel health & screening (20mins talk + 10mins Q&A) by Dr Derek Luo
